It’s important to also recognize, as Mcdougall said at the end, that the
fat an obese person wears is probably about as bad as eating the fat.
Excess fat in the blood whether from the spillover effect from maxed-out
fat cells in obese people or just from diet can alone, in either case,
cause insulin resistance. So yes, sugar does not cause diabetes, except
perhaps very indirectly by making the food taste so good that a person
can’t stop eating too much day after day and they get obese as a result.
But if they were to lose weight while eating carbs and sugar, they would be
done with diabetes when they list enough weight. Absolutely.

Funny..9 out of 10 of the gurus at the WFF said that refined sugar was bad.
    So which is it?

It’s like if you get a paper cut, poor salt on it, it’s gonna hurt. People
would rather blame the salt than the paper for the harm

Dr. McDougall telling it like it is! Like a boss, because he knows the
literature and doesn’t shrink back from defying popular opinions.

Does anyone know what research article McDougall is referring to? My search
of NEJM for a “Brazel” (not sure if that’s right) only turns up something
    on insulin pumps.

Unsubscribing. I”ll stick with PhD researchers like Paleo Mom and PubMed.
Sugar causes so many illnesses according to all the latest research, I’m
    stunned by this video. Unbelievable.

I”m a vegan and I don’t eat sugar or animal fat, obviously, but I’m
supposed to now believe that the entire medical establishment, in all
countries, is wrong except those guys in that video?

Personally I would stay away from refined white sugar and white rice
mostly. But it is a good analogy to share just to prove a point that the
worst carbohydrates are not even causing a problem.

As Dr McDougall says “we’ve got it backwards that sugar causes diabetes”.
A must watch video for people confused about what causes diabetes.
